Now that the world has been opened up to him that there are lives at stake and people died from "unnatural" means, he couldn't just sit idly by at home. He gets that Nanami isn't trying to deny him that and that he's trying to protect him in this world in his own way, but he really cannot take it.

There's a soft smile that crosses Itadori's face before he looks away from Nanami and stares in front of him, watching people pass by. He isn't mad, he isn't going to respond with aggression, but he isn't rolling over passively. ]
